1988. The year a legend was born

In 1988, the Waxie Dargle pub in Dublin gave birth to an Irish classic—the Baby Guinness shot. Created by Stephen Daly to honour new fathers visiting from the nearby Rotunda Maternity Hospital, this iconic drink blended the pub’s original house brewed coffee liqueur with a velvety layer of Baileys Irish Cream, resembling a miniature pint of Guinness. We’re thrilled to revive that legacy with Waxies Coffee Liqueur, crafted using Stephen Daly’s authentic 1988 recipe, delivering the same rich, bold taste that started it all.

Back in 1987, Stephen named the pub 'The Waxie Dargle' not just because of the famous Irish song, but due to its proximity to Dublin's National Wax Museum which used to be situated just across the road from the pub until it moved locations to the southside just across O'Connells Bridge.

He called it The Baby Guinness and the rest is history. We, his kids and grandkids believe the world deserves to have the original Irish recipe back again and experience The Original best tasting Irish baby Guinness shot in the world! ....and yes there's alcohol in it, Lots of it! 23% which is a lot more than in those other two brands!
